In the immediate hinterland of the Etruscan Coast, you can discover delightful medieval villages such as Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Sassetta, Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima, Casale Marittimo. Suvereto, which is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, awaits you with its narrow alleys, brick houses tell the story of a town whose origins date back to before the year one thousand. Lying on a hill overlooking the sea and the surrounding countryside, you will find Campiglia Marittima. In this ancient medieval castle, rich in history and traditions, the streets, cobbled alleys and buildings, arranged in concentric semicircles, give a sense of great harmony. The historic center is all gathered within the walls, and artisan shops, museums and taverns overlook its characteristic squares.

The village of Castagneto Carducci, born around the Della Gherardesca castle, recalls a thousand-year history and through the cobbled streets of the castle you can immerse yourself in an atmosphere of past times and discover ancient crafts, local productions, artisans, the places of Carducci and breathtaking views over the Bolgheri Doc and the Tuscan Archipelago.

Our tour of the villages ends at the end of the famous Viale dei Cipressi, in the old village of Bolgheri where time seems to have stopped and the territory tells an important story of noble families, culture, folklore and important traditions.

For over two centuries, the Premiata Ditta Borsi still offers the ancient flavors that made it famous at the Rome exhibition at the end of the nineteenth century. History, traditional recipes and a lot of passion are intertwined in the existence and in the deep soul of this company founded by Emilio Borsi, friend of Giosuè Carducci and become famous thanks to the production of China Calisaja, a recipe that recalls flavors of the past and which joins the production of other liqueurs including: Amarancia, Liquore del Pastore and Genziana

The flavors of tradition, the production according to ancient recipes that thanks to this new activity will be handed down and made known. There are many biscuits and desserts that you can taste, among them: spumini, pinolate, honey, little horses, corolli incesi and burrini. All rigorously prepared in an artisanal way and using only quality raw materials, including ancient grain flours used since the 1500s for biscuits

Torrefazione King was born in Castagneto Carducci in 1993 and is the story of a Tuscan family, which with passion, heart and intellect managed to keep the tradition intact and to work the COFFEE by hand: from roasting, to the preparation of blends to packaging.
All “handmade” because “being an artisan means working in direct contact with coffee, using the five senses which are more reliable than any technological tool”.
